Clearing is the UCAS process that matches applicants (who aren’t holding an offer) with a university that still has places available. It's a great way to find another course if you changed your mind, did better in your exams than you thought, or missed out on your firm or insurance choice. You'll be able to find universities with places through UCAS and contact them directly to see what they might offer.
UCAS can provide a complete list of students who can use Clearing. Typically, Clearing might be the right option if you:
- Have changed your mind about your degree or university.
- Declined all your offers.
- Did better than you expected.
- Missed out on your firm or insurance choice.
- Decided after the UCAS deadline that you would like to go to university.
The fact you’re already thinking about preparation is a great sign! Why not take a look at our Clearing and Results Day top tips to learn more.
Attending university can be an amazing experience – fulfilling, fun, and challenging at times. You will meet lifelong friends, work hard to become an expert in your field, and get a head start on your career.
However, choosing the right course for you is crucial, so take your time to research and learn more about the universities you're considering. If you want to have a student-to-student chat, why not speak with our current students on Unibuddy?
Yes, you can speak to a Harper Adams Clearing advisor to discuss your options. Call the Clearing hotline on +(44) 300 131 3950. It will speed up the process if you have the following information available:
- The course you're interested in applying for.
- Your personal details (including a contact number and email address).
- Your existing qualifications, including titles and grades achieved.
- Your UCAS ID if you have one.
If you meet the entry requirements for the course you wish to study and we still have places, one of our Clearing advisors will confirm eligibility and send you an informal Clearing offer via email.
Your Clearing offer may be subject to conditions:
- If you've applied to us through UCAS you'll be able to add the Clearing course you've been offered via UCAS Hub. If you don't have a UCAS account, we'll advise you on the quickest way for you to apply.
- You may have to undertake and pass an interview for some of our courses.
- You may have to provide evidence of your qualifications.
We'll send you clear instructions by email, and our Admissions Team will be on-hand to help with any queries.
